This Morning Garden City (STA. 65), South Media (STA. 51), Woodlyn (STA. 67), and Ambulance and Medic 23 were dispatched to mile marker 2.5 on the Blue Route for the Accident with the vehicle possible on fire. 65-2 responded under the direction of Assistant Chief Brent Hopkins (65-9B). Chief John Kokonos (51-9) arrived on location with a Tri-Axel dump truck fully involved and everyone out. 65-2 arrived and led off with a 2 inch hand line. With the amount of fire and limited water, 51-9 called Concordville (STA. 59) for the tanker and Boeing (STA. 79) for the Crash Truck. Numerous other surrounding companies were called to assist with the fire. The county HAZ-MAT Team also responded due to the diesel fuel that had leaked into one of the highway run offs. Crews remained on scene for several hours hitting hot spots and cleaning up. Thanks to Holmes (STA. 43) and Marcus Hook (STA. 68) for covering while we were out. Pictures by Alex Fischer.
